PROBLEM SOLVING HOT ROD CHASSIS PARTS FOR OVER 40 YEARS.
Available 36″ and 45″ wide, but can be cut down (with a hack saw) to any length. The bar is ¾” diameter 4142 heat treated, cold finished, with one end splined ¾-36. The other end of the bar is not splined. This smooth end gets securely drilled/pinned with a double wall 1/4" split pin and/or welded (optional) into a coupler which welds to one of the arms. The laser-cut, 3/8″ thick arms are 8″ or 12" center-to-center. Urethane bushings isolate the sway bar inside the outer tube. Adjustable rod ends connect the arms to the tabs that weld to the rear end or frame. Overall length is ¾” longer than the bar length, since the 3/8″ arms mount outside the ends of the bar. The arms can be bent to clear the coil-overs.
Please select from the following options when building your sway bar kit. If you'd rather order over the phone, please call us toll free at 1-888-648-2150. We can walk you through the various options.
Hardware PackageThis is the basic hardware package that comes with every kit. For the heavy tube option, the bushings will be substituted to match. For the "splined both ends" kits, two splined couplers will be included.
Outer Tube Mounting Options
Upper Coilover Mount:Formed tabs weld to the outer tube and connect the bar to the rear crossmember using your 5/8" coil-over bolts (not included).
Lower Axle Bracket Mount:A 10 ga formed bracket bolts to the lower coil over holes in the four link axle bracket and mounts the tube tucked nicely under the axle bracket. Tabs weld to the bottom of your frame rail to mount the heim joints. Depending on your ride height, a male heim joint can be used on both ends of a 3/8-24 threaded spacer tube. Please check out the pictures. Holes are 5/8" dia on 1" centers.
Under Frame Mount:These plates have two 3/8" mounting holes, with the opposite end designed to weld to the 1-3/8" outer tube. With this option, the sway bar can be mounted underneath the frame rails. We have weld-in threaded bungs and hardware available to fasten the plate, if required. 1" from the top of the 1-3/8" tube to the mounting hole centerline.
Heavy Tube Crossmember:Available 42-13/16" long for the 45" sway bar, this 1-5/8" x .188" wall tube can be used as a rear frame crossmember to mount your coilovers. It is designed to go through the frame rails, with the sway bar arms outside the rails. No frame mounting tabs are included. The hardware package is the same as our standard trim to fit kits, except it substitutes the larger #1205 bushings. Our #18600 is a good option for the coilover mounts - check it out in the related parts. If you order the 36" kit and select the option for the heavy tube crossmember, you will receive a 36" long sway bar with a 42-13/16" long outer tube that you can trim to fit.
Three pairs of 3/16" thick tabs connect the sway bar outer tube to your 1-1/2" OD frame crossmember tube. Two pairs are mounted on the front of the tube and one pair is mounted on the rear in order to prevent the sway bar tube from rotating on the mounting bolt centerline if all three pairs were mounted in a row. Includes all necessary grade 5 zinc plated hardware.
Arm Mounting Options:
Axle Bracket TabsDesigned to mount the heim joints to 3" axle tubes. 10 ga. 3/8" hole.
Frame Mounting Tabs, 11/16"These 3/16" thick tabs will mount the heim joints nice and close to your frame rail. 3/8" hole.
Long Frame Mount TabsIf you need some more distance between the arm and the frame rail, these 3/16" tabs tabs might be the solution. 4" from the frame edge to the 3/8" hole center.
Control Arm TabsTypically used to mount the heim joints to a 1" dia tubular lower control arm. 3/16" thick, 3/8" hole.
If you want a custom length bar, splined on both ends, we have that available now too. Maximum length 45″. Please allow about 2 weeks for delivery.
Quick release pins are also available so you can disconnect the sway bar arms easily. We suggest using them on the axle end because the heim joint is captured between the two axle tabs, and it can't slide along the pin.

Every customer is different. You’re different from the next customer. That’s why they’re called 'custom'ers. There is no formula, no equation that will work with all of you. It takes a different approach to everyone to determine how best to serve anyone. Some people need videos, some people need descriptions. Some people need us to weld it together. Our approach has been, and will always be, to serve each of you where you are and to treat you the same way we would like to be treated. We officially opened the doors to Welder Series in 2005. That doesn’t sound like very long, because the product line has been percolating for over 40. Paul Horton began developing and building many of the parts we still manufacture when I wasn’t yet a twinkle in Dorothy’s eye. Thanks very much for your business and support over the years.
-Paul, Dorothy, and DW (me) Horton
Note DW and Paul Horton at Welder Series absolutely rock and were quick, prompt, by far the best communication I’ve had with an online vendor in a LONG LONG TIME… (Sorry but their response time was bar none awesome). Very rarely do you find the level of dedication to a customer, communication, and a rewarding experience for both the buyer and supplier. I bought a pedal assembly a bit ago, and that experience automatically ensured that I will source Welder Series before I search for another vendor. Paul and DW have it together and will make a solution to your problem… and probably at the best price around to boot.
